I came across this article on CBC Radio’s web site and I found it a little worrisome. Google is working on a new service to build an online healthcare profile about you. One of Life’s lessons we’ve all learned, or should have learned, is to “never put all your eggs in one basket”. This is what Google wants us to do. Be wary and aware.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Google and I love their services. I use their search, e-mail, maps, docs and various other web services they provide. They know a lot about me…but I’m not sure they should know everything. They should not know about my health conditions, my medications, my medical history…or those of my family…for the sole purpose of pushing more products at me and ultimately for them to make more money. My health is not something to be exploited by anyone.
Oh sure, it will be wrapped up nice and made to look like something that will make our lives easier and more convenient, but in the end, it’s all about money, selling products and feeding the beast known as Consumption.

Yes, I had read about this somewhere as well. I do like Google also, but don’t like their keylogger that’s on their website, always monitoring what I type or what my messages say. I initially noticed this a year or so ago, when each word I typed, I’d notice one ad or another in my google margins pertaing to products, services, etc. I assume they’ve been logging all my data since I’ve had an account with them.
It’s sort of scary, if you think about it.
And I agree with you; I don’t like the idea of them generating ANY personal information about me, be it health care or otherwise.
Finding your site was an accident thanks to google, but I like it
