For as much as man has discovered and learned, there is still much more to be explained…the origins of the Universe, the relationship between space and time, and perhaps the most complex…The Pirillo Effect. The Pirillo Effect states that if you mention the name Chris Pirillo three times in your article or blog, he will appear and leave a comment of some kind. This would truly be a marvel when one takes into consideration the multitude…MULTI-multitude even…of blog articles written daily.
Now, you’re probably sitting there wondering to yourself, “Who is this Chris Pirillo person and why should I care?”. That is a good question, and for most people, you probably don’t have to care. But for some, those who live, breath and die technology, he is a very important figure. Chris Pirillo is a mythological being, a renaissance man, a geek, and a study in personal branding on the Internet…and people love him. He can be arrogant and a pompous ass to his legions of fans who will stare longingly at a dark room waiting to catch a glimpse of their hero. He often bickers with, and whines at, his wife on a daily basis…live on the Internet…and we accept it (Ponzi, you have the patience of a Saint). How did he achieve this elevated status in the annals of techdom? He puts himself out there and he is everywhere.
He blogs at http://chris.pirillo.com, he manages several web sites such as http://lockergnome.com. He organizes and hosts Gnomedex, an annual tech conference. He records and publishes daily tech tip videos at http://live.pirillo.com. He writes magazine articles and is a published author. Like I said, Chris Pirillo is everywhere. He learned that in order to be successful on the Internet, you need to promote your personal brand at every opportunity. You need to build your brand with honesty and integrity and be yourself. You need to step outside yourself and expand your comfort zone. These are all lessons we can all learn from.
Mr. Chris Pirillo…I salute you. From one geek to another, I bow my head and tip my hat. May the gods of Silicon continue to smile upon you. I await your arrival.
